Gents As the weather turns colder I'm finding the heat in my TD4 getting less and less. This is not due to the fact that the engine temp is low, it seems a lack of air flow is the problem even when the fan is turned up to max. The pollen filter is new. Any ideas would be great cos I is freezing me teats off

Have you changed the anti-freeze recently?
Have you bled the cooling system?
I would check it with a cold engine at idling speed with the heater temp. selector set at maximum. It can take 3 or 4 bleeds to get all the air out.
If that doesn't fix it and you haven't changed the anti-freeze I would suggest that you flush the entire system, as there may be a blockage in the heater matrix.

Are you running the air con to keep the windows demisted?
The wife's freelander is warm as toast most of the time, but when we have the dogs in the back we have to run the aircon (little buggers insist on breathing) to keep the windows demisted, while doing this the air temperature is quite a bit lower.
Have you checked the coolant temperature with the on board diagnostics? Rover did some odd stuff to the diesel R75 to make the temperature guage show 'normal' when the engine was still cold, same engine in the freelander, maybe they did the same thing?

The screen vents aren't that powerful on my wife's, but I've no idea when the pollen filter was last changed, it's on my to do list along with the other 'little jobs' the thing needs doing to it

i hear so many issues with the TD4 warm air situation, as posted above could be a number of things to check, ive tried everything other than the thermostat and i can never get warm air, takes 20 mins on fast idle jst to get luke warm, i get sufficant warm air through the footwells but the dash vents just give out frostbite
Had a similar problem on mine, good air flow, but hardly warm, temp gauge showing normal, noticed coolant level a bit low, less than a litre to top up to max, huge improvement in cab air temp, not sure if the fbh is working, air blowing through the exhaust under front bumper when engine running, but no smoke.
