I have got front fog lights fitted to my Td4, I also heard they cant be fitted and when i bought them from E bay they said not suitable for Td4 - only petrol models. I bought them anyway with a view of trying to modify them however no modification was needed although i did have to get a plastic moulding made to seal them into the front bumper.
I have never seen them fitted to a Td4 other than mine (apart from factory Fitted) but it is possible despite what LR tells you.
Hi, yes I also have the TD4 and fitted the fog lights. However I now have most of the parts to fit the Preheater to my TD4. I had a quick look yesterday and space is going to be tight to get the heater in.
The fog lights take up a lot of room. I cant remember is there a screw that needs to be removed under the wheel arch to remove the bumper?
I'll have to mount the heater, put the bumper back on then see what space is left then try and do some jiggling I reckon.
Don't think it can be done (dunno if this is because there's no space for both, or because the radiated heat from the heater will melt your fog lights!!)
A lot in the way, one dealer i worked at a few years ago, there was a bloke who didn't know about it and cut the holes in the bumper, the preheater was directly behind the hole and the lamp wouldn't even go half way in before hitting it
Someone on another forum has tried this (try the Land Rover UK forum or Land ROver Addict forum) and the Webasto was the problem. Sounds like there is room on the non-FBH models. (Although when we got our TD4 (2002) they were warning against fitment but hadn't yet fitted the FBH to the TD4.)
Well I offered the FBH up today, I can say the bottom of the heater is in the way of the fog lamps.
I think I may be able to squeeze it in by moving the heater a couple of inches up and back I also would need to put a spacer in the fog light to bring it forward a tad.
i'll post my results later on if I can do it.
