Could do with some advice on an issue that has cropped up with my 2001 Freelander Td4 Auto in the last couple of weeks.
I am getting three syptoms:
1. Engine turns over for 8-10 seconds before it fires up (with or without pre-heat). Hot or cold.
2. When idling with the autobox in 'N', the engine revs fluctuate (not wildly). Very often it stalls.
3. When engine is running and ignition is switched off it usually continues to run for 3-4 seconds before cutting out.
Non of these symptoms are permanent though they do seem to becoming more often the rule rather than the exception.
The car has been regularly dealer serviced from new (now 101,000 miles) and the last service was 2500 miles ago.
Fuel pump, solenoid, any ideas?
Grateful for any suggestions.
