hello

just put an engine and box into a 54 reg td4 used the clutch master cylinder from the replacement engine so didnt have to reconnect it to slave but went to floor so i changed it with the one off the engine i had just removed, i know it was a good working unit but still hits floor, will go into gear with a fight:fighting2::argue:

has it got to be bled????

only very min fluid loss ie what was in the connector when removing.

the engine and box i know was running fine and had no probs with gears

????????

cheers

Given the situation your in, bleeding, in fact changing the fluid completely is the sensible next step.

will it be the same as standard bleeding pump, release and so on???

cheers

Yep, but you will probable need to use a hand on the pedal as the return spring doesn't quite lift the pedal from the floor.

keeping the reservoir topped up is a bit of a pain, I fixed a pouring tube to a clean plastic bottle.

It going to be something to do with the pedal stop. There is a hall sender type switch up next to the push rod for the cylinder, I'm not absolutely sure but this may act as a pedal stop so check that area and see if it is still in place.

It's a different method of doing the same thing. As long as you bleed enough to flush through to fresh fluid and get all the air out that's all that matters.
