Hi
I have been looking at all the TD4 and BMW 2ld forums on this common problem but havent managed to find any cure. Mine is a 2004 TD4 with about 85000 on the clock. It has been fitted with a Synergy2, egr bypass, BMW vortex and has been run on shell fuel. For the last couple of months it has started to produce a large plume of blue/white smoke on start up after it has stood overnight or has not been started for several hours. It is bit lumpy for a few seconds then clears and runs absolutely fine after that. I have had the injectors tested and 2 of them refurbished. I have also replaced the fuel and air filters and the glow plugs but the problem continues. It doesnt seem to be losing any oil or water and I am now at a loss. Has anybody got any idea what the problem could be?
