Ok after my previous post TD4 basically turbo oil seals gone ran high rpm for 5 mins on own oil with keye out

Removed all turbo plumbing attempted to start turned over a tiny bit then locked found no.1 full of oil pulled 4 injectors cleaned as best I could excess oil. Started briefly.

Fitted new turbo (awfull job) now it runs fine sometimes, still a bit smokey bit I guess there's oil all over the place ( hoses and intercooler drained) but sometimes at higher revs it starts a loud expensive sounding ticking and looses loads of power. Switch off and back on and it goes away till high revs again

Help please!!

could it be that due to the turbo running on and using up the oil you have done some engine damage ,plus have you checked how much oil is left in the engine, does it need a oil change.

If he didnt do an oil change before fitting the new turbo, he has very probably voided its warranty.

Given that it was left hammering away on its own oil for God-knows how long, my professional, expert diagnosis is that something is probably broken. Could be literally anything though, and only a full inspection will tell.
In my experience, diesels that have run away like that rarely run right afterwards.

yes obviously i changed the oil and filter, the turbo however was not a new part, but a known good from a scraper, no point wasting lots of ££ on a engine that might be fooked. that's also why i started it without the turbo pipes before i spent any time or money on it, and it sounded like it was running fine then.

now it runs fine, slightly smokey but i'm putting that down to the amount of oil that went down the pipe, it pulls better than it used to. just this awful clicking/banging that starts sometimes after high rpm high load, and won't go away till it's turned off and back on. I know something must be broken, but i'm not about to strip the whole engine to find out. i've ordered new injector seals someone has suggested injector blowby, not convinced but for £5 of seals it's worth a shot

I had a customers TD4 in a while back, that used to crack and bang at high revs.

Long story short, it was the rail pressure sensor/wiring loom playing up
