we was trying to avoid that and to find out what was wrong with the original one

u can replace solonoids etc, there is actually a few jatco specialists around and members on here know these boxes inside out and back to front

have u still got the original box, may i ask what u paid for the replacement please

can't u go back to his garage

does go to prove that the mechanic hasn't got a clue ref landies if he's basically bodged it, taken ur money and now lost the cash, worst still u can't use ur landy
Paid 350 plus 50 p+p, from everything land rover in Gloucester, and the guy fitting it is a landrover mechanic so knows what's what, so needless to say ebay won't be getting anymore buisiness off me unless I'm refunded, though I doubt it as when I requested a return due to faulty goods he deleted the ad! I'm guessing it's going to be a longwinded affair, so what to do now? looks like a proper recon purchase or is there someone that can actually rebuild my old gearbox? suggestions! .....please lol ?

Hopefully you paid with PayPal or a credit card. Either way you will be able to get your money back.

Get your box rebuilt. It won't be horrendously expensive, if only the reverse band is goosed.

Open a case in eBay and explain based on fact the issue and the seller then has to respond. If they don't within a certain time then eBay will refund your money under buyer protection.

And as for your current box you can get pretty much all the parts you need to rebuild it - need to carry out checks and fault code read etc and work out what's gone and then source the parts and repair

Or book it in at a reputable Jatco gearbox specialist

oh man that sucks , well good u have at least got a guy who knows what he's doing

there is a resistance solonied test sheet done on here by hippo , if u do a search , then give that to ur mechanic so can at least test everything

if he isn't familiar with the jatco like others have said get it rebuilt , there is a company is sussex that rebuild then and sell every single part

plus as others have mentioned , ebay will refund ur money , doesn't matter he's deleated the ad, they will have all his details

u should have any problems getting a refund

there's plenty of us to help if u need it ,

nodge, hippo and others on here, if they don't know something about the jatco it isn't worth knowing, they are extremely knowledgable

hope i get on ok

do feel for u mate , don't think ur alone , like i said there's plenty of us to help with info

u will find a massive amount in here regarding the jatco box
