Hi,

My wife and I are going to europe this summer in my 95 Disco 300Tdi. We are taking the ferry driving though France to Switzerland then on to Italy then back through Germany. Just wonderd if anyone had any advice and if they could reccomend anyone that does cheap breakdown cover as teh car is over 10 years old they seem to want to charge the earth. The only other option is her clio and frankly enough said about the choice lol

The AA covered my 89 110 for 99 quid for a year. Service is very good too.

We used Green Flag, can't remember the cost but the Doris was happy enough so they must have been cheap!

Don't forget spare bulbs and hi-vis .. one of the party we went with got stopped not far out of Calais and had to show them, and a warning triangle etc. If you use TomTom get the latest software before you go, mine now shows a reminder to drive on the right when overseas .. would have come in handy a couple of times when setting off .. ;)

Don't try to wild camp unless in wilderness .. Most towns and villages have a municipal camp which we found were often better than the commercial sites and mostly cheaper! Buy diesel/petrol just off the autoroutes, we found them way cheaper.
