Had a blown tail/brake light the other day and while replacing the bulb i look at the wiring setup for the double element bulbs.
Is it possible to split the loom wnd move the brake lights into the higher light cluster and keep the tail lights in the bottom ones.

Such as the wire loom that goes to the bulb has 3 wires Im guessing one is for the tail lights and one for the brake. Or am i completly wrong.

Also if it was possible it would mean the fog bulb will have nowhere to go, is it illegal to replace the 3rd brake light with the fog. Obviously I would rewire it and buy any addition parts.

Thanks Dave.

In that first link, what's he's basicly done is moved the tail lights into the higher cluster and left the brake lights in the lower cluster, and the Orange wire he taped into is the tail light live. So um guessing the green is the brake light wire.

you can NOT move the brake light upto the top cluster unless you move the brake lights down and you can not have brake lights with fog lights what I did is get a double bulb holder and join into the wiring and had side lights on the top as well as the bottom cluster which is leagal as the brake lights are bottom and centre and fog lights are still at top

I just want led brak/tail bulbs, but cant as they are double filaments which means to much **** arsing around with the wiring, is there no type of led bulbs that are the equivelent to double element standard bulbs

Thanks for the link.
So white light behind red lens is better than red behind red?

Also if fogs appear brighter than tail lights (as ive seen on other cars) why are the bulbs the same voltage and wattage?
