Q. Does Truetag work like a tracking device?

A. No.

Truetag is not a GPS tracking unit. It is an electronic identification system designed to prevent theft and offers an additional layer of security. It assists in the effective identification of possibly stolen and cloned vehicles.

Q. Are there any activation fees or annual costs?

A. No.

Once the microchip transponders are fitted there are no further costs. The units are fitted for life and require no maintenance.

Q. Am I guaranteed a discount on my insurance?

A. Many Insurance Companies recognise RFID as an effective anti-theft deterrent and where possible will offer discounts.

Some comparison sites do not have the facility to offer additional discounts and it is good practice to telephone your insurer to ensure you are getting the best possible price.

I think you might be mistaken. This seems to be far from a tracker..
You get 3 RFID chips, cost price £2 (these are the things that put in your pet in case it gets lost)
Each chip can be given a unique number. Which they will put on their database link to your details. I guess they could give the police access to this.
There is no homing in on location... these only become active if put within about 10 - 30cm of a scanning device.
But they are waterproof :)

Just don't go getting it thinking you or the police will be able to track/locate your car. If they recover parts or a car and IF they scan them you might get your stuff back.
If you are after a 'Tracker' with which you can locate your car I can personally recommend PebbleTrack and according to the manufacturers instructions I think it said it's waterproof too. Anyway it's owned by Ryder (member on here). I know he does some great deals for Landyzone members.
No connection to the business other than being a happy customer.
