I'm after some wiring help, I've put a T max split charge on my fender, it's the one with the battery level display

when it's running it's showing it's slightly overcharging the main battery, and it's letting the aux battery run down, but I can hear the relay coming in and out

any ideas on whats wrong, I've checked the alternator and the outputs near perfect

Have you got the solenoid wired right? it's not immediately obvious which way is 'up'

I'm not sure, I've put it with the slightly longer side down, then wired as the diagram

I had thought that myself

Thats right, wondering if your aux battery is fubar?

both batteries are brand new Numax jobbies, so they should be ok

Not a good enough sparky to tell you how to check fo r faults but i'd triple check wiring and earths, then auto spark and if fauty send it back

i have the exact same system in my disco with numax batteries

since i fitted a 300 tdi alternator it is charging higher
but the system detects how/when to operate

just had a thought, I've put the earth cable on the system onto the -ve on the main battery, could this make a differance?

I'll have to give the wiring a good check over
