Just purchased my first disco. took quite a while for me to find a descent one that wasnt rotten. But it does need a bit of tinkerin with. Ive got a list to work through lol, noticed on the drive home somthing was humming when you accelerated with it which i think is the fan belt, When you accelerate or decelerate there is a knock from the back which i think is the a frame bush? and i have just noticed all the core plugs are leaking :( - First thing will be to get the cam belt done. Any way here it is

Brit parts, silly billy

F*** why arn't they any good? ill take them back if they are **** as last thing i want is the cambelt snapping

Hi yeh its a daycoe belt im just abit worried about the other stuff now. but havin said that they are all covered for 2 years

It will be fine. Fitted SKF belt kit and it failed instantly, so got a Britpart and quality was better than OE quality SKF!!

Don't worry about the Britpart, it's not nearly as bad as people like to make out.

I've done a LOT of work to my disco, it's predominantly Britpart!

Britparts ok for filters n stuff - not a lot can go wrong with that! More of a mistake using paddocks imo!

Just make sure whatever you order is OE quality! This applies to service items usually, there are 2 or even 3 qualities available, and good golly gosh the cheapo stuff is terrible!

I've never had any trouble with Britpart stuff at all. Also as someone else said the Dayco cambelt is a quality item - no worries there.

i ordered a cv and wheel bearings from paddocks a couple of years ago.... ordered online on december 23rd, country covered in ice and snow but i fully expected delivery arround jan 3.
parcel van turned up with all the right bits on dec 28.... frankly i was a tad surprised.

thats nice - i'm still awaiting a refund on a faulty clutch kit from what has got to be at least 6 weeks ago now!

I'd take back
water pump
full cambelt lit
thermostat
fanbelt tensioner
fanbelt
a frame ball joint
Other than that you'll be allright. It don't leave a lot left. lol

I would be dubious about water pump and thermostat... But would still fit them if my life didn't depend on it!
