Morning all, The wife's beloved D2 V8 (known as Lulu) is sick.
Depending on the diagnosis on the from the mechanic - I might be in the need of a good low mileage Thor 4.0 V8.
Anyone got a running engine (if required). Pictures and videos would be appreciated.

Thanks Craig

As long as its not a slipped liner then it can all be repaired. Even if a liner has let go there are ways to resolve it. From top hat to pinning the engine.
Let's see what they come back with

Latest update. Compression down on 5 out of 8 by more than 20%. Severely oiled up plugs, using a lot of oil, running lean on one side, brand new lambdas are not even registering any level change/fluctuations in readings, just flat lining on diagnostic tool, but there's no Co2 in cooling system so head gasket good. If the lambdas are plugged in its gutless and won't rev or accelerate, but disconnect them and she's off like a shot full rev range and acceleration is great. She's had brand new exhaust fitted Inc cats (front to back) new ADP Blue Point lambdas, new oil filter, Bosch spark plugs, fuel filter, new air filter.
The wife loves this car (probably more than me) and she just wants it back on the road.

So many questions on this…

Did your mechanics say what trouble/fault codes Lulu had? That would be interesting to find out.

Fuel filter replaced? The only fuel filter on the Thor V8 is on the fuel pump inside of the fuel tank and that isn’t replaceable.
I’m curious to know where is the location of this fuel filter they replaced.

I’m guessing when they changed the oil filter they changed the oil. If they didn’t change the oil then what good is that to only change the oil filter?

ADP Blue Point Lamdas? I never heard of that brand of O2 sensors. I Googled it and nothing comes up for ADP Blue Point other than O2 sensor socket.
Try NTK or Walker (not Bosch) brand O2 sensors for better results.

Hopefully they gapped the new Bosch spark plugs correctly to
.040” +/- .002” before they installed them. I’ve seen new spark plugs right out the box were gapped too wide from the factory.

The engine is coming out at end of May. Then it'll be stripped down and diagnosed properly. I'll post updates as and when they happen.
