Looking to change from oil to grease in the swivels.
Any one know wot to use and how to fill em with grease instead of oil?
 
Did mine recently, you get One Shot, Landrover make it, it comes in a ready measured bottle with a nib or sachet.

Drain the old stuff, with your wheel at full lock blast in the one shot. To get it to flow in better put it into a bath of boiling water for a while, I also found a small piece of tube pressed over the nib (I have the bottles) and then you can put that right into the swivel. Easy enough job.

Once its in its in, but I would top it up with a little oil.

If you have trouble getting the grease let me know.
 
Hey up Disco.

How long since you put the grease in, and have you had the hub things off to look at your wheel bearings since. And can you give us a vague idea as to how much grease is in a sachet thing.
 
grunt dear lad the one shot goes in the swivel not the hub.. so it dunt affect the bearings....directly
and can i have some of what you've bean drinkin
 
Yeah but no listen right, the oil in the swivel housing lubricates the wheel bearings as well don't it?. So if you don't put enough grease in or the grease dosn't get to the bearings then the bearings might **** up.

'Course you can have some of what I've bin drinking, only you've gotta pay for it.
 
Must have put it in a good few thousand miles ago, everything going well, sorted the leak I had aswell. Regarding the grease quantity, it says 370grams.

Grunt ye old fella me lad,

The oil/grease in the swivels lubricates the swivels. The grease you pack in the hub bearings lubricates them. The hub seals keep them all apart; unless of course your hub seals work like mine and let all the oil past, allowing it into the drums and removing what little braking properties my S3 had. ;) 500 grams = 1.1 lbs
 
Oh I yes, well lookee here, there's a seal behind the inner bearing. I just assumed that 'cos a load of oil ****ed out when I adjusted the wheel bearings........well never mind. I'll get me coat.
