Just stripped down the swivels for a rebuild. The bottom pin has a bearing, but I was expecting thrust washers to come out the top, but there is nothing. Is that normal?!

Hope these help?
Showing the bearing that goes into the bottom of the swivel and the pin that goes into the top.
Landy tool box videos shows two washers with a thrust breathing between going into the slot in the top of the swivel that’s then compressed by the top pin.

Here is a screenshot from YouTube showing the thrust washer and then a photo of my parts catalogue. Part 5 FRC2906 when I look up on Paddock doesn’t look the same.
Regardless, when I stripped the hub there was nothing in there!

you should have one rialko washer no5 in your parts screen shot, the vid is a disco abs type,it uses a similar pin to early defender so sensor can fit in it

Thanks for confirming. Defo nothing in there when I stripped down... I’ll add when I rebuild, but would it have caused damage not being in there at all?

Seemed to be ok. But I decided to renew seals and rebuild as I didn’t know quality from before I purchased. Hopefully no damage and I can rebuild ok!

Just checked again now I known I’m not looking for thrust bearings- I can see the washer in the housing!

I assume I don’t need to change the top and bottom pin, but would I need to change the washer when rebuilding?

bottom pin doesnt even need removing and very unlikely it needs changing, normally youd change top pin, bush and washer if there was any wear, plus bottom bearing
