And a photo of the removed plug with a new one.
Looks like an amazing job!Well my job ended up a bit more involved than I had planned. I ended up having issues getting the caliper off, seized bolts with rounded heads. Even knocking the tightest socket on did nothing as it was to far gone. I ended up having to cut the caliper in half, plugas everywhere, heat and knock on nut removers. The first extractor socket smapped when I tried to undo it. I then had to get a new set, drilled the back of the bot to relieve some steps on the threads, heated the area around the bolt and it came free - a lot of faffing about!
As the caliper and hubs were off I decided I wouldn't put off the swivel change any longer, so it was with them too.
As the swivel housing was very crusty I wanted to get rid of some of the rust. I ended up using electrolysis which was a first time for me - I was impressed with the results.
It has taken a while with the amount of de rusting, painting etc. Plus I have done both sides. That and the effing weather that does not seem to give up and l can't seem to get any continuity of work as the truck is outside. I will carry on with it when it stops raining!
I managed to get the filling plug out by heating the housing which I must admit I was surprised it worked.
I will put some photos up.

There is a parts company called Britcar. They are not the cheapest, but they do answer the phone and help you when you are not sure of parts / part nos etc. Very helpful and super fast delivery.
Glad i'm not the only one who suffers from notsureisum!!!It's been a long drawn out job, but then I have not been itching to get it back on the road. Also, I wanted to get one side done before starting the other - but that went out the window due to the carp weather.
Discovering electrolysis also added time but I am glad I tried it as I think it's a fantastic process. With the duration required in the tank it is all adding time, but worth the wait. Then comes the painting with three coats on each and a sh1t load of hesitancy and lots of notsureism and with the weather it has taken me the weeks it has.
I did want to do a bit of de rusting of the chassis/suspension/axle ends before I put it back together, but the weather has stopped that.
I am looking forward to getting it back together and then my first attempt at bleeding brakes!
Unfortunately Britcar has gone bust! Cannot believe it! Island4x4 are good also, but its all by e-mail - they do answer though! And competitive prices.....I will have a look at Britcar when their website is back up and running, but I have been using a company called Buckley Brothers which are quite close to me. I must admit I prefer to pick parts up where I can rather than waiting for parcels. When I get items from ebay, unless they will fit through the letter box, I look for ones with the cluck and collect facility.
I thought Britcar had started again? That is only what I have read on here, I have not yet used them so can't confirm either way.Unfortunately Britcar has gone bust! Cannot believe it! Island4x4 are good also, but its all by e-mail - they do answer though! And competitive prices.....

I just double checked. They have gone into liquidation. Great shame……I thought Britcar had started again? That is only what I have read on here, I have not yet used them so can't confirm either way.
