found switch under dash have'nt seen it before
dose anybody now what its for

That looks like a thermostatic fridge stat-have you an electic fan or something that turns on at a temp you can adjust.
Follow the capillary coming out of if,to see where the bulb on the end goes.

OK a bit more info on the switch, you can turn it, so is it a rotary switch or variable resistor?.

Rheostat sitch then like for heater on old landies, variable so prob don't know

air con works perfectly and dose nought when turned

Cut the yellow wire, with a finger in one ear, that way if it is a bomb you will only be deaf in one ear
