I've just wired up some spot-lights on my 200tdi. All working fine, but I'm trying to figure out the best place to mount the switch (one of those small-ish blue light-up rocker things) on the dash. All the existing switch slots are full (including the one under the dials). Anyone successfully mounted an extra switch somewhere else on their Defender with out buying one of those dash-top pod things ?

I presume you don't want to fit a mud dash or raptor console either? My series had a couple of switches in the front of the dash try, inline with where your fag lighter and rear wash-wipe are located. You may even be able to put the hole in the oval shaped dash insert so you don't permanently damage your dash, I've not got one to hand to see how much space there is though.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'll give it a go mounting straight into switch panel that's already there and if that doesn't work out I'll go to Mud stuff

Just a bit of an idea! put it off centre - i know it may look strange but if you plan to put something else on say A Bar spots or rear spot or something you then have a spare space

That oval thing took a second ciggie lighter (used for power, not chain smoking :D ) with loads of clearance and doesn't seem to flex or bend too much

I built mine into the cubby box.
