Hi folks, I haven't been here for many months for one reason or another, hope you are all well.
I am trial fitting a newly built tub to a new chassis. Having not removed the old tub, I am unsure of where the tub actually rests.
Does it rest on the right angle seat belt anchor brackets?
Doing that brings the tub curve level with the bulkhead curve, if you know what I mean.

The tub does not rest on the rubber pads underneath at all, which I thought it did.
If you can understand that waffle then any advice will be gratefully accepted.
Cheers to all Peter.

Hi catman and welcome back.
The primary mounting points for the tub are the brackets on the rear crossmember and then at the front L shaped brackets on top of the rear fuel tank outrigger near the outer end and similar on the near side opposite.
After that more support is provided by the seat box. There are two more brackets on the after gearbox crossmember but not sure if tub fits to these or just seat box
Said brackets are fixed on new chassis but on my 2A are bolt on items. Cheers.

Yes it should be resting on the mounts corresponding to the rubber patches on the underside of the tub.

A slight gap is unlikely to be a big deal as the tub, being mostly aluminium, would flex and close the gap with any sort of weight in the back.

When rebuilding mine onto a new chassis these gaps were a bit too big, so I stacked up a few strips of aluminium and riveted into place with the rubber patches.

Thanks for the replies all. I see the final front tub adjustment will depend on the door and front bulkhead all lining up. Having looked at a few online photos I see someone has packed extra rubber under the tub mounts. The front height of the tub is made by raising the adjustable seat belt brackets.
Cheers again Peter

The seat belt bracket is the item on the right of your diagram and fits to the sill rail.
Tub mount bracket is the one in center and is pictured the wrong way up.

The centre brackets on my one fits as shown on the previous diagram. They bolt to two short brackets on the chassis.
The brackets shown have a couple of nuts welded on them. The slots enable the tub to be raised.
Current photo ...Holes are made at the front of the tub and the seat belt bolts through that into the welded nuts. There are two other brackets on the outriggers for securing, there are no L shaped brackets. My chassis is about ten years old galvanised and never been on the road. Long story, was my eldest sons abandoned project.
