The pipes also have a blue and white sleeve on them as well, they also have to be right.

i thought asking my father in-law to remember would suffice.... a lesson learned

Cool - thx Urban - got that right - i thought asking my father-in-law to remember the colour order would do the trick - lesson learned...

Cheers Urban - wish i'd read your pages before id started on my long journey of getting no where with the oil cooler pipes - lesson learned... the push fit, did't on my original replacements... which led to the connector cracking and leaking at high pressure. just swapped the cooler with a 2nd hand one and had to bust the new pipe to get it out... talk about taking 1 step forward and 2 back... at least i know how to do it now...
bte - this is prob obvious... but is the near side oil cooler pipe the right hand pipe - they aren't labled anthing other than left or right - and with my luck on this job, it'll be the wrong one i'll lend up with
