After the attempt to steal my landy a month ago I have been adding layers of security. At 00:30 this morning there was some very suspicious characters at the boundary of my property / my neighbours property. What they would not have known was that they were under surveillance from the moment they pulled up on the opposite side of the road a little way along and opposite my neighbour. Two hoodies got out, crossed the road and stood at the edge of my neighbours property and shone a torch towards my landy. What they got was an LED beam directly in their faces. It took me a few seconds to get outside to confront them but they got away pdq, fast getaway car! I reckon they were on a recce visit, in preparation for another theft attempt. The whole episode took less than 30 seconds. So just a heads up to peeps in South Humberside / North Lincs that the scum are still active in this area.

An LED beam? Single dot red laser, or visible light spotlight? :D Also, did you get any details about the vehicle they were using to get about?

If you have a webcam and software to record then offer the police a disk of the recording. Clearly they are on a recci and inform your neighbours also to be aware.

Light beam, focused small enough to light up only the area they were standing in.
All useful information will be passed on to the authorities. I'm guessing their car was one they borrowed earlier.

Still worth mentioning to LandyWatch as well, to warn others in the area.

Wots Landywatch?

It is a group dedicated to disseminating information about stolen landies and related suspicious activity. Since it's inception, however, it seems to have suffered a disproportionate amount of hacking and abuse from, shall we say, not very nice people.

My original post (THIS post, I mean) related to an outdated link; Dippypud's since corrected that. You can find LandyWatch's facebook page in his post below :)

Ah. seems I'm behind the times.

It is (or was, jury's stil out on this at the moment) a group dedicated to disseminating information about stolen landies and related suspicious activity. Since it's inception, however, it seems to have suffered a disproportionate amount of hacking and abuse from, shall we say, not very nice people. I'd hold fire on trying to contact the=m right now, as there hasn't been activity on their facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/LandyWatch-195454100466134/) in over a year (I just posted a Q about that there).

They were hacked very badly, it may of had something to do with telling people not to buy from certain 'outlets' they had been known to sell stolen items .... or not ...

Anything happened since last update?
As the suspicious characters were on my neighbours property rather than mine I passed info to my neighbour. He is a senior rank police officer, had his house burgled and one of his cars taken with all his spare keys when he was on holiday last year. He can get a lot more done than me on this especially as it affects him too.
