stupid qu but i am trying to chande rear bushes on shock absorbers and cannot get the bootom nut of the damper undone. the shocks bottom tube just keeps spinning round and dnt have alot of tools with me at the min. any advice would be much appreciated.

get a pair of stilsons on the bottom of the lower shock tube, in between the spring coils. just be careful not to damage it too much.
there's an 8mm flat on the bottom end of the threaded rod (below the nut) you could try an 8mm spanner on. it's never worked for me though.

thanks. but i dnt have stillsons only have mole grips and not quite big enough to grip the tube. very limited supply of tools at the moment until i get back to uk. ill try the nut on the bootom tomoz. thnx alot for reply

I just held the shock tubes by hand when I did mine.:)
They had been on 12 years but a lot of WD the day before seemed to do the trick.

i have drenched them in wd40. i have managed to get some stilsons now so ill give them a go in the morning. thanks alot

i would cut them of but i need too drive from burgundy to gloucestershire in 2 weeks.
