That is correct - no fuse = no power to run the EAS ECU hence no communication.

If you are really desperate to see what faults exist plug everything back together leaving out the valve block. This may or may not work but give it a go and see what happens.

Basically when you connect to the EAS ECU you first of all get the delay timer to wake up and supply power to the EAS ECU which you then start communication with in a nutshell.

All aspects of the EAS system need to really be connected for the diagnostics to work - you may get away without the valve block connected though.

Hi Kenny,

Got the o-ring rebuild kit in the post today, thank you very much, probably not going to get a chance to do it for a week or so but i'll let you know how i get on HAHA!

Thanks again

Glad it arrived OK Aaron - good luck with sorting out your suspension ! - Wills will keep you right :)
Don't know what he thinks of these - Air Suspension Manual Inflation - Range Rover P38 EAS on eBay, also, Range Rover, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 19-Feb-09 21:02:30 GMT)

I have one lying around that is surplus to requirments - give me a shout if it is of use to you, it may be worth your while plumbing it into the system while you have it stripped so you will never have to drive on the bump stops in the future

Update...... Drive Pack in still no joy, so i took it to "Harris-Mayes Country Cars" (VERY HELPFUL!!) as it was still not communicating with the ecu, they eventually got it talking, fuze no longer blowing, fault code is gone (no more beeping!!)

Still got flashing lights tho, it is stuck in the highest setting as one of the valves is shot, but as soon as you go over X mph it try's to lower itself so the light below comes on and keeps flashing!!! Got a referb kit on order and then back to the garage Wednesday as i've not got time to sort it out myself for a week or so (when i do the oring kit). Then should be all done, but i'll keep you updated.

Thanks for all your help.

have been away and didn't spot this!

Glad you have got the drive pack in and that the fuse is no longer blowing either, I guess as soon as you re-connected everything up the fuse no longer blew?? What did you mean by the fact it still wasn't talking to the ECU?? As in the EAS ECU wasn't talking to your diagnostic software or what??

As for being stuck in the highest height - is there not even a fault being logged in the ECU for this??

When you took the valve block out to fit the drive pack what happened when it all went back together, did it start trying to raise up immediately??

Glad you haven't lost the faith!

Hi there,

All back to normal and in perfect working order now, Yeah mine or the garages diagnostic equipment would not communicate with the ecu although it would do the seats etc...

Thats correct didn't blow, until i was driving around with it stuck and it wanted to lower to the standard ride hite but as the valve was knackered it tried and tried until the fuze went again.

Not sure about the fault code as i took it to the garage in the end as i didn't have time to sort it out. I'll pop in this week and ask.

Again thank you all for your help, definately not lost faith eventhough i feel i will be using this site more often as problems arise with the old girl!!
