Hi all hopefully somone can help me I'm having problems with my suspension got a fault code c1a04-21 front left height sensor iv replaced the sensor with a genuine sensor and the fault still comes up it's a 2012 rangerover vogue l322

I will start by saying I am not the most techy type. Any possibility of the wiring leading to the sensor having been chafed? Is sensor facing the correct way. No offence but it has been known to happen. Have you cleared the fault and tried again?
Some of the more techy type will be along soon 😁
In the meantime, maybe pop along to the Introduction thread and say hi to everyone 😁

Hi thankyou for your comment yes I have made sure its fitted the correct way with the arm facing out I have deleted the code and it comes back up it's got dynamic suspension I got the suspension to go up when for a drive and the code came back up and it dropped the suspension

Well that's me out, on all but the wire. Not sure who to tag but will start with @backinblack

Not played with dynamic suspension but may be worth checking the voltages on the sensor to make sure you have the 5v feed and earth. Can you see the voltages on the diag tool?

Hi all just had a look at the voltage at the top of the dynamic strut tops on the front both read 0.88 volts
Then I have done a ride level control module diagnostics interface
And the following readings

Left front corner height -103
Left front height sensor voltage 4.68 v
Right front corner height -99
Right front height sensor voltage 0.47 v
Left rear corner height-43
Left rear height sensor voltage 1.58
Right rear corner height-53
Right rear height sensor voltage 3.12
Pressure 306 kpa
Pressure sensor voltage 0.81
Motor temperature 20 c
Compressor temperature 18c

What do you all think to this

Did you recalibrate the suspension when you changed the sensor?
Is the car sitting level or is high/low on different corners?
Those voltages for the front sensors are way to far apart to be right.

Yes I did the calibration I have just pulled the plugs on both front level sensors and read the voltage on pin 3 and 5 got 4.98 volts on both sides and it put two more codes up due to me unplugging the the codes was
C1a03-1c
C1a04-1c
And the code that stays on
C1a08-78
That's the code that stays on any the dynamic suspension fault displays on dash

Adaptive Dynamics uses the height sensors but I think you're on the wrong part, AD is the magnetic fluid in the shocks if I'm not mistaken and as you have a 2012 you will have that too. You can easily confirm that by the wiring going to the top of the struts.

I haven't seen the code that you are describing now, what is the rest of the detail for it? Your diagnostic told you that the others were height sensors, there must be more info available for C1A08-78.

Was this with the pump running? I suspect not as it low temp. Does it run?
The pressure seems low 306kpa =44psi, the system runs between 200-300psi in the reservoir.
What height was the car set on when you took these readings?

C1a08-78

I am having trouble finding the codes as you list them (except the 2 unplugged sensor codes) what diagnostics are you using?
This code above I cant find, but can find it as C1A08 which relates to the pressure switch.

Now if it is the pressure switch it will stop the pump and not give you any access to change the suspension it also won't do anything so to conserve air in the bags ( if you have any) But of course if you are down on the stops it will not allow you to lift as 44psi in the tank will do absolutely nothing at the suspension bags.
I suspect you are on the stops because your front left reading is at the near end of a 5v sensor reading/range. As is the right front albeit the other end of the range.

Now all this is taken for a 2011, so unless RR added some codes for the 2012.
Attached is for a 2011 but I dont see why JLR would have changed it (much)
