Hi All I need some extra brain power. I have just refurbished my suspension compressor changing the piston and cylinder. The compressor starts to run smooth when I first start the car but after about a minute I see that the compressor starts to slow down for 10 seconds then stutters and stops. Code thrown DTC C1A27 Normal Height Only. Any ideas where to look?
 
Often find its better to fit a new compressor instead of re-furb kits. What made you decide it needed re-furb in the first place
 
I was getting Normal height only coming up occasionally and it was becoming every time I started the car. The compressor piston nylon rings were very worn with a lot of black powder in the crank case. So I ordered a new piston and barrel on the internet thinking that was the problem.
 
You can try changing the relay for the compressor in under bonnet fuse box, sometimes works but I’d put money on you needing a new compressor
 
Thanks Johnlad for your interest. I will try what you say with the relay and do a bit more digging before I part with about 1000 pounds in your currency. I think the gallery pressure is low at 254Kpa and the compressor looks like it is struggling.
 
Compressor approx £400 if it’s the original Hitachi one, could also be a rusted air reservoir, there known to hole on the top side.

Feedback on my Hitachi compressor after digging deeper found that a winding on the armature of the electric motor was damaged. (over heated) Found a second hand one with a good motor. The suspension is now working fine with no codes and able to raise and lower without any messages.
