Doing the hubs (1988 RRC) and thought i'd be all smart and get a 52mm socket for the adjustment rather than pipe wrenches...

Bought one, it arrived nicely packed by the seller from eBay.

Laid out my prayer mat and began the service. Amen.

Very odd....the hub nut won't quite fit the socket. Is it burred? No. Is it just the one nut? No, both don't fit.

Out with the callipers. 52.33mm or 2 1/16". HOW?! Now if i want a 2 1/16" socket it's a fortune!

Another item to expand my metric / imperial mix

Bloody hell!

Here endeth the lesson.

53 mm on the pipe wrench 🤷‍♂️ well worth there weight. I've used it for all kinds of stuff. Pressing seals and ball joints on defender rear axles.

I r going to steal that "prayer mat" phrase

i reckon one with a Landy prayer mat logo on - in kenswick green would sell well

i got the Sealey one...although i've never actually unwrapped it - i use it in the original postal black bag wrapping- keeps it nice and clean!

well hub and everything back on with apparently the correct end float.

Now i just need the steering box back from Kiley Clinton and she should be good to go (and get an MoT...)

Do hide your light under a bushel, as the saying goes. Show it off for all to see:D:D
Your wish is my command!
