I have just bought my range rover 2.5 dhes 2001 and when I turn the ignition off I get a message saying that the sunroof is not set. Does anybody know what that means or how to fix it.

Congrats on buying your 2001 DHSE (same as mine!)

The 'Sunroof not set' means that the 'Anti-trap' hasn't been set.

What you need to do is fully open and close the sunroof then fully tilt and close it in one continuous operation and the message display should change to 'Sunroof set'

Thanks DHSE done as you said and it's now sorted. On a side note, have you chipped your's and if you have what type did you use. Also the leather in my could be better do you know of any way other than new stuff to bring it back to life. No tears or sagging just a bit dirty and my arms are sore trying to clean it with Meguiar's

I've had a re-map done at Jeremy Fearn's and its great!

The RR feels very powerful and also relatively fast too!

Fuel economy wise I now get around 35-37mpg the worst i've seen since the re-map is 28mpg

I'm going to have Jeremy's bigger intercooler kit done and also change to fully synthetic oil (as per his recommendations!)

Cleaning the leather?

I've had loads of cars over the years with leather interiors and I found the best solution is to use Johnsons baby wipes on the leather to clean it, and then once the leather is cleaned I use leather conditioner to keep it from drying up (I do the same on our sofas too!)

Also consider the PSI powerbox, It is removable easily and does give good increase / mpg. I get about 32 to 35 on a good run in mine.

I treated the leather to leather dye on the armrests and a couple of places where it was looking tired and it came up A1. You can get it on eBay (do a search on lightstone or whatever colour your leather is), I was sceptical until I bought some, tried it on the underneath of a seat and it was a good match (once the leather is clean!)

And then obviously treat with a good conditioner (the more expensive the better is a rule of thumb on these. Some cheaper ones are basically like face moisurisers and do a short term moisure job, not condition)

Thanks for the feedback you guys. Think I'll go with the PSI as a re-map up here in the sunny West Coast of Scotland costs £1100. I think I need something a bit stronger than a baby wipe to get the leather clean but every time I wipe it I get more dirt off. I'll stick to the Auto Glum Leather Cream when I'm by cleaning it as it kept the leather on the Alfa 156 good for years.
