Hello well its MOT time again and i had a long list for it. Got all welding done, plenty to do! sorted out a few other things and then noticed a weep from the sump! The cost of a replacement sump is sort of out of reach at the moment. Does anyone have any other ideas?

I carefully tried to clean the area and there is a 50p size rust blister its weeping from. Is it possible to remove the sump and weld a patch on? Anyone done it?

Wish I noticed this first before spending 3-4 days welding and sorting all the other issues now im snookered. Thaks for any help a bit gutted just now.

Do you really have to remove the steering tie bars to gain space to remove or can the chassis be jacked up to give clearance? going to try and weld it

2 tre and the steering damper clatter with big hammer and away you go, did mine yesterday and it took no more than 15 mins to take the track rod off and put it back after. It gives do much more room it would silly not to remove it.

the sump is double skinned and you will have hell on trying to get it to seal up i have tried

If you look on the bright side, it must mean that your engine doesn't leak if things are rusty in that area!

Mine will never rust...
