Sump was leaking around where it bolts to block, removed, cleaned very well and re sealed with engine grade sealant, left for a couple of days to 100% cure, refilled, tested all ok, have used a couple of times now and oil leak is back leaking from drivers side front corner and dripping on to diff and running back along sump to block joint and dripping off bottom of bell housing.

Any ideas welcomed.

Could it be out of shape sump, engine cyclone breather blocked forcing oil out ????

Thanks.

Maybe oil filter housing - That can be annoying where it bolts to side of engine. It's kind of in the right place (Worth a check)

same here, its not the top of the block as its bone dry since getting the head done back in November. My vacuum pump is allways wet and I,m looking at this being my main source of oil loss.....or the oil filter assembly where it bolts to block....waiting for the rain to bugger off or going back to work next week to get it on the sommers lifts........should mention the front of the engine and sump is dry but its mostly wet round the bell housing and the mounts.....rear crank oil seal changed in October so I ken that's good as well

Still not got underneath to look at this but soon I hope. Got discovery td5 off the road now and that's a priority job.
