I'd put the blue wire to a switch personally when wading I like to turn it off I have popped 2 amps to date plus you don't want it on all the time it can be serious drain on the battery

you are going about this the wrong way the little blue wire is your remote lead which goes to the blue remote lead that comes out of the back of your head unit which tells the unit to power up and yes it can be in a mdf box the subb will still power up of sorts and why do you have the power cable connected direct to the sub ?? how it should be is red cable goes to pwr on amp brown earth goes to gnd on amp and blue remote goes to rmt or rca then you need a length of HIGH QUALITY speaker cable coming out of the amp but is your amp a 1 channel 2 channel etc look at the terminals you should find a + and a - and they will be in pairs for each channel and as for the routing the cable time to pop your door rubbers off and take that trim piece off between the door and carpet the run your cables in that space and for running it in to the back of the head unit you run it up the door pillar and out of view and in to the back of the dash you will find a gromit to where you poke the wire through with ease (very easy on drivers side) then have a 2m length of small quage wire and the glovebox open and a screwdriver and go fishing you will find the wire very easy and then join it up and pull it through jobs a gooden then solder the remote to remote and your good
