Hi all, my first post here but visited many times.
Hoping someone can help with stuck diff lock. Thought i would see if it still worked as i never use it.
I put diff lock on, moved about 10 metres forward, stopped and tried to take diff lock off again but now cannot get it too release.
I have read many of the posts on here and will try the reversing trick, but i don't think it is the lever. it moves freely and looking from underneath the 'arm' on top of the box what the lever connects to moves left to right without any problem. It appears to me to work as it should, so am guessing it's a more serious problem.

Any help much appreciated, or any 'work around' as i use it to get to work and back
thx

All I can suggest is going forwards 10 meters and revering back again,

Other than that, wait for James Martin to get online !

A gentleman I had spoken to said to reverse about 30 or 40 metres and it should 'pop' out. He said that when you drive in diff lock it basically coils up tight so that even if you move the lever its not releasing it inside the box. His advice was to reverse and I should feel it come out of diff lock but as of yet I haven't been able to get it out . Might work with you though as I'd been driving with only one prop for a while so its probably wound up TAF

You can't wind the drivetrain up if you only have one prop fitted.

Which ever axle you are driving with still has an open diff to stop that axle winding up, wind up occurs because the front and rear axles are locked together by the transfer box (in diff lock) so you need both props on.

As for the OP's issue a more drastic approach is to jack one wheel off the ground to let it unwind and then it should pop out easier

Thank you all for your replies. Spend hours on it underneath and through the centre console and in the end you were all correct. All i had to do was reverse!!:D
Thanks again for your time
