Looks like a spade and mattock job to me. From the pictures it looks like the chassis and axle will be resting on the relatively firm turf and the wheels are just spinning in the soft stuff beneath. So it's diggable, but it's going to take a while to get all the earth out from under the chassis so it's not fouling.

In the absence of waffle boards, I've had good experiences with rolls of wire netting. Anything from chicken wire to square mesh stock fencing.

I'm too far away to be much use I'm afraid, but I just want to say to the OP have courage, it'll come out with a bit of patience and elbow grease. It'll give you a good appetite for your Hogmanay dinner.

And what ever you do just remember the golden rule of recovery!..........

Pictures, we likes Piccys we does. And preferably a nice video too

was going to say my daughter lives in Barvas but she only has a little 206 pug :)

Thanks for the thought, we had tried pulling her oot with a 1.2 Polo the day before though and all that occurred was copious amounts of clutch smoke

Looks like you were out the west side? Glad you got it sorted, would have come out to help but didn't get a message or anything about it.

Probably be a long time now until another LZIR call on Lewis!
