Glad to hear you got out - i'm impressed there was decent phone signal up there!
There is nowhere on Macclesfield Old Road to get stuck, unless you are driving illegally on the peat moors at the side of the legal route. Judging by the amount of damage along the route at the moment you are far from the only idiot trying to get the route closed but that's no excuse for irresponsible driving.
