Hi to all.

Over the next 6 month i will be totally stripping down my 300tdi 110 2 door hard top and building it back up onto a new galvanised chassis ready for a long term overloading trip in 2023.

I will also be rebuilding the engine, gear boxes and axles with improvements and upgrades where i feel beneficial.

A lot of the work i will be doing myself and after 20+ years of being a mechanical fitter in the quarry industry and now working in robotic automation and help for Britannica restorations videos on youtube i hope my posts will bring tips, tricks and inspiration to people who hope to do the same.

Next week i will start to post regular updates of this exciting project!

Cheers and lets make this a fun build Landy Lee

That's something great to look forward to in 2021. Good luck mate. :) 6 months is a very tight timescale, even if working indoors in a big workshop. Is there a rush? I think we'll need more than 6 months rebuild entertainment in 2021.

Love a Land Rover rebuild thread. Good luck to you. I hope you have a big workshop and an even bigger wallet.

IMHO posts about the failures and challenges you encounter and how you solve them make for more interesting reading that the things that go well.

When the going gets tough, have a cup of tea and get a bigger hammer.

I’m going to enjoy this....Good luck!

And me
^^^same, keep the updates coming^^^

please

Thinking of possibly a camper with my 110 that i have just bought
So interested in your build

But having done a vivaro van conversion to a camper have to agree with @payydg
Also, having built my own version of an overlander by far the most important thing is storage. If you can think about that early and build it in as you go along you’ll be onto a winner.

.

GOOD LUCK

Got the engine and boxes out today.

I have also separated the gear/transbox apart to.

The craziest thing happened to!!! all the bolts come out of the exhaust down pipe!!!! i was expecting these to snap! hopefully the turbo core ones will be ok to. currently they are soaking in plus-gas.

Tomorrow im planning on taking the wings off to make it easier to pull the front axle off over the weekend.
