I'm so pleased my first posts went so well. Think I'll stay at home on Saturday and do some gardening for my own and everybody elses safety, and then go back to a forum where I felt welcome.

Thats a bit harsh - who said I was a newbie and who said I don't know where it is??

Having studied the U tube footage it looks like the lane isn't too difficult - dependant on prevailing water levels,

Long live the spirit of Landy comeraderie:cool: (however you spell it!)

I've just seen some videos on youtube about giving birth.

It looks easy, i'm gonna give it a go.

Relax matey, loosen those Alans and get stuck in. Some of this lot still dine out on the time they pulled me out of the Wayfarer last year so it happens to everyone sometime or another.
Or maybe get stuck again after not learning the lesson from before.

It's all about experience and alot of experienced greenlaners and off roaders have a very short memory.

So come along and get some experience, as long as you've been sensible and keep to the track we'll pull you out.

All I wanted to know really is are there any real knarly nightmare bits on the standard Strata route that a unmoded 90 would have trouble with? assuming the rivers are at normal levels.

From what i have seen it is mostly stone track, are there any bog holes to trap the unwary - i remember dropping a front wheel down to the bumber in a 'small puddle' on the Gap road some years ago - and was glad I was with a mate then.

after the bomb hole thre is some muddy/wet sections which you may struggle on if your unmodded 90 has road tyres fitted

You won't struggle in an unmodded 90, even on road tyres.

Its been dry for a week up there, so the river levels will be low just have a look at the 1st couple you get to to be sure.

I've been through Strata in a totally unmodded Discovery and we have a couple of vehicles that regularly come with us that are on road tyres.

Don't take any of the abuse on here personal, i've not been on here long but I've realised that unlike most other forums, abuse is allowed on here, some would say encouraged!!!

cheers Crazymac - Obviously should have to put my thick skin suit on last night.

Thanks for the local knowledge, just what I needed to know.:)

Hi Benny,
Thanks so much for Saturday and your wealth of knowledge and experience, I think Matt had a great deal, saving himself at least half a tank of diesel by being attached to the back of you most of the day.

Had a brilliant time, couldn't have done it without you and Dixie, most fun I've had with my clothes on in ages!! Bex loved it too, hope to catch you on the next one in a few weeks?

All the best
Johnny
