If it mumbles like a heavy drinker, and it staggers like a heavy drinker...then I say it's a heavy drinker.

Or is that ducks? :D

yer selfish ****er, :D am goin to bust mine in the week, better order one before i start ! ere si, yer got a sender unit out of a 90 handy ?

erm nope....I aont got one of them neever....I had a disco un till last week though....

Nathan .. what I use for GPS/Sat-Nav etc ... should have showed you last time .. :)

PDA .. Dell Axim X51V, cheap(ish, £93) off ebay like this one .. Dell Axim

GPS .. TomTom Bluetooth receiver, again cheap (£28) off ebay like this one .. bluetooth receiver

The Receiver connects to the PDA via Bluetooth and can connect into a Laptop (I use a Samsung R40) via a bluetooth dongle. So you can use either the Laptop or the PDA on the road/lanes. Laptop is great for size of map and very good if leading which is how 90boy used it last time out ... PDA is great if you're following and don't need immediate directions, the screens a little small especially in bright sunlight, but works well enough f you don't have a laptop!

thanks for that paul i'll be looking into it over the next couple of weeks with a view to getting a system 2gether

Nath have you got a laptop you could bring with you next weekend, if yes i can put you 1-50k maps on it for you,

ive got a laptop yes

bring it with you then and i shall put the maps on it for you for ther whole uk, and if you want to have it so you can use it, depending on if the laptop has built in bluetooth or not you could do with a dongle and like the one i use the gps receiver paul put a link to

Ooooh we're going to have a laptop party :D

I'm already getting abuse about taking mine - "can't even manage a weekend without a laptop!!"

Depending on coverage, I'll also be bringing an internet connection :D:D:D:D

What I use for GPS navigation is the same as Paul.D, except that my phone works as the PDA but with a slightly smaller screen.

I use the phone with TomTom/Memory Map/Google Maps/Windows Live Maps when normal driving, but can use the laptop when 'serious' driving.

Haven't bothered using it with the laptop yet - this weekend will be the first time - assuming I can find a way to secure the laptop so it doesn't break !!!!
