My 110 has developed an unusual noise/vibration.
When the engine is idling there's a humming noise and vibration that you can feel through the gas pedal.

If you rev the engine the noise changes with engine revs then quickly disappears. But then comes back at idle.

This is when stationary in neutral. It did it last week then stopped, today the noise is back! Any ideas as to what it could be?

Feels like a dry or faulty bearing. I am thinking alternator, tensioner pulley, viscous fan? There's no aircon.

I get a little of this first thing in the morning, especially when manoeuvring at low revs with my foot on the clutch. I assumed it was the clutch release bearing and spigot bush getting a little 'talkative' as they near the end of their working life. Once I'm driving, and once the engine revs rise, you can't hear it at all.

I have had the release bearing noise recently while reversing (when the engine is cold) but this is in neutral with the clutch pedal up.

Is this noise when the engine in cold, as not at operating temperature. Then it quiets down when warm?

I have a noise / vibration when idling. Depress the clutch pedal and it lessens or stops. I assumed that it was broken / loose springs in the clutch plate.

Harmonic damper on the crank pulley? Viscous fan? If it changes with revs when stationary and out of gear it's something on the engine

Take the belt off the alternator/PS pump/water pump and listen again to eliminate them.

It's not done it since my first post! I'll do what you suggest and take the belt off and check everything anyway.
