Started Muddy (2002 110 Td5) this morning, engine fired up and speedo went up to 50mph then slowly came down again.

Apart from that, it worked fine afterwards.

Is this a sign of imminent total vehicle destruction or just an ecu gremlin on a cold and rainy windy ****ey morning?

probably a dodgey connection in the speedo wiring

no, just sat on drive, my feet on nothing, heatplugs heating, turn on ignition, engine fires up and 50mph.

not bad 0-50 time though eh?
