Hi all, while driving home tonight i heard a loud rush of escaping air from under the car, roughly under the drivers seat followed by a message on the dash suspension fault normal height only. The car drove fine all the way home, When i got home i switched the ignition off and on again and restarted the car, the suspension raised and lowered as normal as i pushed the ride height switch, then as soon as i opened the drivers door there was another rush of escaping air from directly below the drivers door and got the same dash message up again, suspension fault normal height only. every time i switch off and restart the car its fine till i opeen the door? any ideas? its a 2008 vogue btw.

the compressor stops when u open a door! u obviously have a leak from osf air bag or line
there is no leaks anywhere other from under the drivers door but only when the door is opened, the reservoir is in the same area but again no leaks when all doors are closed, its as though something is telling the reservoir to empty all its pressure??

Best get some one in the vehicle you lay underneath and then get them to open the door to find where the leak is coming from.

Just no....

Never get under an air sprung vehicle unless the chassis is supported on stands.

Your post says 2008...yet the thread tag says P38....

yes sorry didn't realise I hadn't changed the model in the heading it is a 2008 vogue, is there any one in the south Manchester area can do me a code read on Friday or over the weekend? thanks

Maybe I should have been clearer on what I meant, lay by the side of it and listen not get under it. My bad

I sometimes get a phhh noise that lasts a fraction of a second when my compresor shuts off
think its just the valve closing as the compressor turns off
but mine sounds like its from the engine bay

Isn't that the exhaust port. It should have a silencer fitted (a little white foam barrel looking thing that screws into the side of the eas box).

You will be unlikely to find anyone with a diagnostic tool for a 2008 model apart from a stealer or an indy. Ignore all the comments so far as they apply to a P38 as in your header.
