Okay, can any experts give some advice regarding my friends TD4 03plate Freelander? If he starts up and goes about 1/2 mile and stops, it is not keen to fire up but does after a few turns. If he travels 10 miles then stops it will start off the button. In both scenarios it can be left for 30 mins or longer so nowt to do with it being hot or cold. Any ideas? And for the Tratter boys, NO he will not burn it and NO he is not gay (not that it would make him a bad person if he was).:)

Yup crashbox :) ask him if the fuel filter has been changed of recent if not that and air filter is first port of call, also worth checking the three large turbo inlet rubbers [three large rubber hoses running left to right as you look in] its possible to have a part collapsed one , and when its hotter hot air could get through more easy , or any hole at all then replace , and check them jubly clips are secure :) :) :)

Air filter has been done recently but he will change the fuel filter and check the pipes and connections.
