Hi all, this is my first proper post on here, I cant find any other info on this problem on the net so i thought I would ask the experts. I have fitted a TD5 dash to my 300tdi and its been working fine for months. Suddenly today I noticed the trip mileage was zero. The Speedo is still reading fine but the trip does not count up and the button doesn't allow me to change to the odometer reading. Anyone else seen this on their TD5?

Don't know on a TD5, but on Volvo dash panels, it was either a break in the flexible printed circuit or the rachet pawl that pushes up the end wheel had failed.

From memory the TD5 speedo has two power supplies, a permanent 12v and a switched 12v. Check both are present on the speedo connector

Thanks kwakerman, I will check the feeds in the morning as I keep the multimeter in the car and its dark and cold right now.

OK I have checked all the feeds and everything is coming on when it should, all the earths are ok, now I have reset the display so that it has the odometer reading on it and no matter how much I press the button it will not display the trip display. So now I'm guessing that the button is stuck in. No idea how I can fix this.

if you are sure all supplies and earths are fine then you could try to lever the rubber button cover out of the glass, my give you enough room for some very thin tweezers to try and lift/free the switch. Failing that you could try unpeeling the bezel to open the speedo up and have a look. If none of that works then live with it or replace speedo.
