Hi all,
Car is a '97 4.6 HSE.
This only happens after a short drive, never when completely warmed through or when cold. Typically, if I drive for 3-5mins and park up, then try to start again after a couple of minutes, it only catches and coughs then dies completely. Starter is churning away, but no sign of life. If I give it a few minutes and then spin the starter for maybe 10 seconds, it will start again. To me, it seems like it's flooding but I'm not sure. Maybe it's an issue with a cold-start sensor or a throttle switch or something?

Any tips appreciated.

ECU temp sensor maybe worth looking at.

Thanks Wammers,
Would that be on the water pump then? The fault appears to be somewhat intermittent, so I don't think measuring restistance is necessarily going to tell me anything - I'll rather just replace it and see if that helps.

Cheers,
Henrik
