Hi there.
I just bought a center cubby box for my Defender 300tdi but upon lifting the center seat I find a box on the bottom of it . It has a wiring loom going into it along with 'DIESEL EGR ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT ERR 6233 TYPE NO.4115.

What is it? Do I need it? What do I do with it?

if you have an EGR then you need it

if you have blanked the EGR then I don't think you need it

My Defender didn't have the blanking plate when I bought it and I accidentally discovered that unplugging the box under the middle seat made no difference at all. It just makes me laugh how many things you can disconnect from these trucks and they keep going. :D
