It feels like I haven't been on for ages and that's probably because it's true. While I've been gone I've still been working on the fender all the time.

Anyway, yesterday I was given a full new exhaust for a td5 disco (I think).last night at 6 I got bored and had a thought so I went out and took the full exhaust off the fender and threw it in the garage. By 11 I'd got a 3 inch bore side exit exhaust with no silencers what so ever. My car now sounds like satan's own trumpet and I love it (although I now can't hear the radio).

The reason I'm saying this is because it seems to pull better from low down. I can accelerate from 20mph in 4th even with my big wheels on.

Now the question is; am I just imagining it? Has any one else had the same result?

EDIT... added pictures for effect

The straight piece is 2.5 inch. The two welds side by side before the flexi is where it becomes 3 inch. It is made from 2 sections of a disco 2 exhaust.

I love the sound but it seems to kick in instantly. Cruising gives just a burble then when I give her the tiniest amount of revs all hell breaks loose.

Hmmm are we talking about a light fixing? Now theres not a bad idea. That's if I can find one big enough.

yup throw the gubbins and keep the bezel the springs will hold it in place anorl Just put a line of silicont on back of bezel before ya fit it. :)

Does it not vibrate against the body? I found I had to cut the hole a bit wider when I did to my 200tdi, but sounds nice thou:D

Not if it is tight like in the pic because it has no where to go. Then the problem is that the tip expands so I didn't want to bent my panels which is why I have now filed the hole wider. I've got a very annoying sqeek now though which seems to be the exhaust rubbing the chassis or gearbox mints or something. That will have to be fixed tomorrow because it's driving me mad.

That be the one. I'm thinking of black chequerplate though to continue the theme of black and orange.

Oh yeah, why does your exhaust not go through it?
thats work in progress in the early days

the orange pic is after but before the new exhaust end was fitted

Yours is virtually the same colour as mine except mine is possibly a tiny bit lighter and mine has gold flecks in it. On a sunny day when it's been polished mine has a gold sparkle to it.
