Has anyone fitted a straight through section to remove the front silencer on a 300 Tdi. Seen on ebay from island 4X4 claiming power increase and fuel consumption is improved..???

hi do you mean centre box or cat? as im also interested if the centre box has been removed.

I was speaking to someone today Home & he reckoned a diesel doesnt need a cat & they do a pipe to replace the centre box with apparent gains.

We had a slow Disco I 300tdi in, and did the following:
1) remove EGR
2) remove Cat
3) remove front silencer (wrong small one had been fitted)

The owner is now very happy and the car is not noisy.

Hi,

I have removed the cat and it revs better, and slight increase in power. Fuel consumption is better.

when removing cat does this not affect mot i was told yesterday that i would have to put cat back on for mot but to buy a straight through stainless with no middle box
