:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:Yesterday, my 2001 d2 cut out on the way to work, i got off the motorway & theres 3 roundabouts.. As i pulled away from the 2nd boom.. Cut out

the recovery team happened to be both be landcover owners & said it could be the diesel pump / lift pump in the tank

anyone experienced this ???

Normally it doesnt even really turn over when starting it , it just starts up as soon as you touch the key hot or cold.

Yesterday it would turn over but just not start

thanks

yes but could be several things , you can check to see if pumps working by switching on ignition and listening for pump running in the tank

I'd have thought seals would have allowed it to keep running even if badly. When mine died like that it was the pump - and it happened just after I'd changed the filter. My theory is that the extra effort needed to purge it were the last straw.

They were trying a crank sensor this afternoon.
I haven't heard the out come
How much ££££ are they normally ???

Turned out to be a fuel pump in the tank. It was an intermittent fault would work then stop Etc ....
Thanks for the comments
