driver's window has a stuff window wind. starts to get really hard to wind and sometimes gets stuck. about 3 inches down, for about 6 inches then clears back up again. sometimes worse than other times, sometimes barely happens

anyone have any idea? i'd have had a look before but i'm at a loss how to take the door card off, it's bloody fiddly and i see no way to slip it around the lock button surround (aka Escutcheon) any help or advice much appreciated :)

Underneath the handle is a small black screw which holds the trim in place.

Once you have removed it the handle trim will pull off with a slight twist to get it round the handle.

Take the centre out of the winder and remove the screw to release the handle.

Once you have got the card off, you will need to undo 4 screws holding a metal plate in place.

Then you will have access to the window mechanics.

A good clean and a generous smear of Vaseline on the gear rack and a spray of silicone on the tracks should sort out the stickiness.

ok thanks guys, sadly my door is the newer type which is more fiddly (why would they change this??) i'll have a look on monday, bought a new door lock button since i'll probably break it
