type TOPIx in google and you can search for the radio manual. I dont think there is a mute button , mine is a 2000.

Pull it out of the dash and check speaker connection plug hasn't popped out, mine fell silent for no reason, somehow it came unplugged. Worth a try and only takes 2 minutes to check.

Is it the model with the amp under the front passenger seat? If so, check the connections there too.

You've not by chance had it get wet from a leaking sunroof have you,the Harmon kardon head unit in mine took a bath and the symptoms were the same.

funnily enough yeh there was abit of a waterfall on it coming from sunroof handle could well be that i will pull it out have a look,,

you would think landrover would of fittede a waterproof sterio anyway, amount of leake they come with..:D

pulled it out ,nothing obvious .amp apears fine aswell, there was abit discouring on circuit board on sterio wondering if water has got in and done damage..bugger will need to upgrade now.

When mine did it for the second time,I took the head unit out and put it in the airing cupboard for a couple of days and low and behold it worked again
