Pre-TD5 models have a moulding which fits under the middle part of the dash, like this:

Alternatively, you can fit something like a Mudstuff console.

This would be a good option if you wanted to fit extra switches or gauges etc in addition to the radio.

As far as electrics are concerned, you'll need a permanent fused live and a switched live connection, plus a ground. There should be suitable brown (unswitched) and white (switched) wires in the middle of the dashboard where you can take power from. These both need their own fuse to protect the wiring.

They're £55 direct from their website, so not cheap but the quality is good and they definitely look the part. All their stuff is pretty well designed so it doesn't look out of place. On a challenge truck you can make do with a bit of bent steel sheet but on a 'car' it's nice to have something that looks close to standard.
Lots of people use them for fitting extra gauges, switches for additional lights and other gadgets- you have to cut the holes yourself as there's so many possible configurations.

Some double DIN units can be made to fit the Mud console, but it depends on the depth behind the dash AFAIK. The Raptor console is larger and so offers more space, but I don't think it blends as well into the original interior. It also covers more of the vent slots in the dashboard.
