I'm hoping someone out there can shed light on my current problem. My sat nav and amp in my 2004 L322 have suffered after all this rain and water has leaked into the back compartment which I have read on here is a common problem. I'm trying to get the stereo working again first then i'll sort the nav out after. The plugs on the amp were full of water so I dried them all out but the only thing that happened when trying it was 9 faint beeps (beeps that you wouldn't normally hear) from the speakers when turning the ignition on - then nothing. I've been out and bought a brand new amp but when I plug this in, theres no sound at all - not even the 9 beeps?? The radio display is all fine - just doesn't show the DSP so I assumed it wasn't at faulty radio unit. Any help would be great!

Hi, a bit of an update - The new amp is now registering, DSP is now showing on the screen and a very faint sound can be heard through all the speakers, it just seems I can't turn the volume up now! anyone else experienced this problem?

Look for corrosion on the connector pins or even the wires corroded off in the connector.

Thanks datatek, i've just double checked all the connections, there are no broken ones and they are all clean. I'm wondering if its going to be something really obvious - as all the speakers are working but just at a really, really low volume. Any other ideas anyone??

Damage to old amp might have also damaged the head unit

wait for light on nav drive to go out in 1/4 panel in boot, remove fuse number 46 in glove box, wait for atleast 10 mins,re fit fuse this should reset the system

Hi, yes the nav is dead - i'm awaiting a new one in the post. Its been dead for over a year though previous to the amp blowing. Removing the fuses and waiting to reset the system hasn't worked so i'm thinking it might be something to do with the sat nav (even though its not there) wanting to mute the stereo?? does that sound possible? I've contacted a few companies etc but no one has got back to me yet so i'm still stuck! If I took it to a LR dealer would their comp show up any faults or would it be a waste of money??

its all connected even through satnav, never remove the fuse or disconnect the battery until its all powered down (at least 2 mins) the first thing what dies is the sat nav if you do not do this, wait until you fit your new unit then follow what ive said,if this fails its prob the dsp at fault

I'm having exactly the same problem with mine. My sat nav doesn't work along with the amp. I'm in Birmingham if anyone has a spare one I can buy or any remedies

The ones I've seen failed it's been due to pins corroding off in the connectors. Water leaks have been the cause of the problem. I managed to fix it by soldering wires on to the PCB and bypassing the connector. Fiddly but doable.

I've had this problem before, when you get the system working again and dry all the components/compartment, its an idea to cover all the connections in darathene as this makes them completely water resistant. Also, common cause of the water ingress in the boot side compartments is due to the sun roof drains being blocked (the drains run from the roof to the rear wheel arches and if they are not cleaned out regularly they become blocked and ends up the water leaks into the boot). Stops you ever having the same problem again!

There's a water shedder modification that LR fitted as well, to stop this problem happening. Not sure of the part number, but I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction
